Bingo Hero Advertisment Banned By ASA
Thursday, August 20th, 2009
Bingo Hero received a rejection to their online ads yesterday by the ASA – UK’s Advertising Standards Authority.
In their reasons for the adjudication, ASA explained that a complaint was received regarding an advertisement promising a bingo bonus of “15 pounds free” & “no deposit required”, while in reality the 15 pounds are just practice money, and cannot be withdrawn, therefore are not an actual bonus. Bingo Hero in response quoted their terms and conditions, stating that the bonus and any winnings from that money cannot be withdrawn. Based on that ASA stated the advertisement is misleading and will not be able to run in it’s current form.
A little explanation on that: A lot of online bingo sites are giving a free bingo bonus where you don’t need to deposit any money – Wink Bingo gives a £15 bonus, Bingo Cafe gives £20 free and so does King Jackpot – £20 free – these are just a few examples. You will be able to withdraw your winnings in these sites – off course, under some constraints, but your winnings are real money. Bingo Hero’s bonus is actually just practice money – you can play with it to test their system, but you can’t win anything with the bonus.
You can check out this good resource about no deposit bingo bonuses for more information about free bingo offers.
Hope this was helpful,
Dianne
